Store built by C.W. Farmer on land belonging to Jebediah Fox.

The Market building was enlarged in 1884 & again in 1885.

The store also housed the post office when Mr. Farmer was appointed Post Master in 1886. C. W. Farmer sold to William D. Fogg. Store was raised, a basement was added, barn was moved and steam heat installed.

First telephone service was a pay station in the store.

W. D. Fogg sold to Daniel O. Devens.

Daniel O. Devens sold to Herbert and Rose Young.

Youngs sold the business to Mrs. Young’s brother, Arthur Tremblay. Arthur and Edith Tremblay remodeled the upstairs as an apartment for themselves and their two young daughters.

Tremblay’s bought the building from the Young’s.

James and Ann Wilhelm acquired the store from the Tremblays. The building was painted gold and a new sign was added also added a new walk-in freezer and walk-in cooler for beverages and dairy products.

Wilhelm’s sold to Russell and Shirley Johnson. The Johnsons, wanting more space, reconstructed the old grain shed from top to bottom, adding a concrete foundation and a fourteen foot addition to house a meat room and loading dock. This construction almost doubled the size of the store. They also added a new walk-in freezer and walk-in cooler for beverages and dairy products.

Mike and Lesley Cass bought the store from the Johnsons.

Mike & Lesley sold to Mike’s brother Neil Cass.

Neil Cass sold to Norman and Barbara Harris.

The Harris’ sold to John and Chris Costa.

Store closed.

Edwin and Nancy D. Adams acquired the building, major renovations to the entire building were started. Renovations included: a brand new apartment to the top floor of the building, concrete floor in the front portion of the basement, holding beams added between the first and second floor, new floor throughout the store, and many other updates to bring the building up to code.
